In other words, can I create a shortcut that shifts focus over to the host OS and then launches a SnagIt capture without first having to manually shift focus? This would be so much more convenient.Īnd I have thought of installing SnagIt on the guest, but then I would have to manually add the captures to Word, so that would actually be more work than I am doing now. (Most of the time I make it in time, but sometimes not).Īnyhow, the timer is not the big issue (I could increase the delay), rather I am wondering if there is a way to create a keyboard shortcut that will trigger SnagIt even while the guest OS is active. However, right now, before I take a screen capture, I have to click over into the host OS, then press my keyboard shortcut to run SnagIt (which is on a time delay of 2 seconds), so in that 2 seconds, I have to click back to the guest and position the mouse as required, open menus, etc. SnagIt has profiles that take a screen capture, then save the file and simultaneously insert a copy into the Word doc on the press of a keyboard shortcut. The word document and SnagIt are on the host. The guest is running software that I am writing technical documentation on with lots of images. I am using a Windows 10 guest in VirtualBox 6.1 on a Windows 10 host.
